Timeworks were approached by the principal of Gaelscoil Cholaiste Mhuire in October 2021. The school was based over 4 floors and included a school yard which was situated at the back of the school.
The end goal for the principal was to have a PA and bell system installed, with a speaker in each classroom and in the school yard.
Timeworks installed the Bodet Harmonys system which more than exceeded the needs of the school. The principal was delighted to have an automated bell system that could be programmed by the Harmonys software. The Harmonys software comes with a selection of melodies and the option to upload your own sounds.
So no more noisy school bells and the added option of volume control per speaker.
One of the major benefits to the principal was the fact that he could now speak to each classroom individually or as a group, enabling quick and easy communication with the children and staff, via the multizone microphone.
The Harmonys software also allows broadcasting of music via the likes of YouTube or Spotify for example.
One personal comment from the principal which made the project worthwhile was the uplifting mood of the kids, since the system was installed.
“Principal Pol Hansard” Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire
Having the PA and bell system installed in the school has been a game changer for us. It has improved communication within the school immensely. The students and teachers love the bell as it really helps us with timekeeping, which is quite difficult in a school consisting of four floors over basement level.
The children love the broadcast function, whether it is to broadcast an announcement, a song, a child reading one of their poems/stories or for our monthly quiz. The possiblities are endless. During Seachtain na Gaeilge this year a different student every day took turns to read out our Seanfhocal an Lae and explain the meaning to the school. We also use it on rainy days when the children cannot go out by doing DJ for Day.
